Since 1984, Mr. Chakonis has gained diversified experience in forensic accounting, including the measurement of damages on domestic and international commercial claims. His work has encompassed insurance claims, litigation support, fidelity losses, financial-motive determination, wrongful death and discharge, business valuations and loss-of-earnings analysis — many assignments involving depositions, expert testimony and international travel. In December 1995 he left Campos & Stratis to establish his own firm, originally Chakonis & Becker and now Chakonis & Pettit, LLC, specializing in the measurement of damages through forensic accounting.

As partner, Mr. Chakonis directs investigative audits, supervises forensic assignments, performs business valuations and measures damage claims involving lost profits and earnings, asset and business valuations, property damage and extra expense. His expertise spans business valuations, personal-injury matters, and the banking, medical and food industries. Assignments have ranged from $10,000 to over $450,000,000 — including work for Bankers Trust, Citigroup, Major League Baseball, CalPERS and Children’s Hospital.

Since 1982, Mr. Pettit has gained diversified experience in the financial industry, including evaluating the financial strength and profitability of a wide variety of domestic businesses. Since 2001 his focus has concentrated on forensic accounting and the measurement of damages for insurance and litigation claims — encompassing insurance claims, litigation support, business valuations and loss-of-earnings analysis. He joined Chakonis & Co. as a manager in October 2001 and became a partner on January 1, 2008, when the firm adopted its current name.
